no time to blog – crafting!

Ever since I jump started my (tiny) business of sewing/knitting/crochet I have neglected my blogging.  Also, facebook seems to take over doesn’t it? Because I am photographing stock and loading it onto my PenPals facebook page, I tend to update what I am doing there, instead of here.

But I am back to it. As soon as the next Currumbin Handmade Market is over. It’s the first Saturday of each month however, so it does come around pretty quickly.

In the meantime, we’ve been crafting with friends in the beautiful Spring sunshine. Happy Springtime everyone!

Crafting outdoors is lots of fun

come on Spring!

We’ve had weeks and weeks of single digit temperatures overnight here on the Gold Coast – which is very cold for us. Spring does usually arrive with a bang, and I am looking forward to waking up to a mild morning.

In the meantime I am celebrating my favourite colour GREEN. A quick look around my home shows an embarassingly large amount of it. I don’t wear it much though, except in jewellery. But I love to bring the garden inside with accessories, furnishings, functional stuff and of course food!

storm season

today’s 3pm storm

i didn’t take this photo, because i was driving in this storm! it was too late to turn around and wait it out.

20mins it lasted, then sunny skies. but it hit right at school pickup time, 3pm.

thunder, lightning, torrential rain blowing in all directions, hail (on me unfortunately), wind, and flash flooding.

hello summer!

too much rain

we had too much rain in a 24 hour period for our area to manage it. each time i woke up in the night, the rain was heavier. our street was awash, and the rain was so torrential that we didn’t make it to school. local parks were underwater and the creek was brown, swollen and moving fast.

this is a road close to school.

today of course, it’s blue autumn skies again. very soggy underfoot though.
