Friday’s favourites

There are so many things i am loving today!

First of all – the garden

daisy chains

3 weeks ago, they were just seeds,  the kids are loving the daily growth.

sweetpeas reaching to climb

picking lettuce and rocket for lunch and dinner each day is so great

and then there was some food

i'm addicted to this yoghurt, if i could make homemade so it was like this i'd be very happy

and it’s good plopped on leftover pikelets and blackberry jam

that's not cream, that's yoghurt!

and then there was a little shopping. This family calender as awesome, and really made me so much more organised this year. i remembered playdates, library days, school dress up days, and even some birthdays!

ready for 2012

helmet and gloves arrived just in time for cycling

I had forgotten how much i enjoyed cross stitch

more xmas decorations like this are in progress in the PenPals studio (sometimes referered to as the couch)

making felted balls is very therapeutic. what to do with them now?

my friend’s new product

i am giving a link to my friend’s new product. this is what we’ve all been looking for – proper sun protection for cyclists, both kids and adults. even those little passengers on the back of bikes need to keep out of the sun.

and you just might recognise some of faces under those helmets………….yep, it’s my two cyclists and their dad.

we all need one of these!

when bears come to visit

rufus is one the prep class bears, millie is the other one. every now and then a bear comes home to visit for a few days and we get to taken them on an adventure, “transport” was the theme this time. so mr h thought as bikes are his favourite transport, that rufus should get to have a few rides.

up and down the street on daddy’s back
this last week has been a tough one with sick kids and plumbing probs – i don’t whether i spent more money at the chemist or with the plumber. however now we’re all better, eating and enjoying real food, and the heavy rain is back. two days and nights of rain and the fields, golf courses and parks are all under water again. here’s hoping for a cheerful last week of term 2, and then the happy return of the travelling student father.

weekend holiday

well it’s all we’ve got time for at the moment! fungus took part in the Mt Coot-tha Challenge, a 70km organised bicycling event which started and ended at Southbank in Brisbane. We decided to all go and spend some time in the “city”. we stayed at the Royal on the Park, which i so recommend. we’ve stayed here before because it’s directly opposite the Botanic Gardens, is an easy walk to everywhere, parking, late checkout at 1pm for an extra $10, and has 2 queen size beds in the deluxe room. fabulous. we played in the park, met cousins for noodle dinner, and slept like babies in our big soft beds. then the kids and i walked down to the ferry, one stop to southbank, a short walk and we were at the museum. bliss for both kids and me too actually. we had some reasonably priced and ok food in the cafe and made our way back to the hotel to checkout and drive the hour home. oh so civilised. the kids were amazingly amazing, and i’m quite keen to do it all again very soon.
